Seattle Lodge was established in 1986 and was
located in Pahiatua. In the beginning we stood thoroughbred stallions
but in 1989 we purchased Jaguar from Australia. Jaguar- a Belgian
Warmblood proved extremely popular with breeders all over New
Zealand, and Seattle Lodge moved into Sporthorse Breeding. This
was the start of A.I and transported semen. Jaguar was very successful
and left a number of top competition horses.
In 1994 after a trip to Holland we purchased
the Dutch Warmblood stallion Voltaire II along with selected shareholders.
In 2002 Seattle Lodge relocated to Bulls and after 2 yrs of being
situated there we moved to our present location, Cambridge.
Seattle Lodge is nestled amongst some of New
Zealand's most prestigious thoroughbred studs, and the Waikato
is certainly the hub of the horse world in New Zealand.
Seattle Lodge is well set up for horses with
a sand track, a large sand arena, lunging yard, stables and yards.
We also offer breaking in, pre- training and schooling of thoroughbreds,
sporthorses and ponies.
Voltaire II has been relocated to the South
Island, he is now standing at Astek
Stud in Canterbury. He will
be truely missed by us as Seattle Lodge, as we had him for
13 years.
